Working Man: Callahan delivers for school system
Mail courier Chase Callahan keeps Fayette County Public Schools connected to each other.
Callahan is a behind the scenes guy who works like the school system’s postal service. Every morning at 7 a.m., he starts his day at the home office, gathering up any inter-office county mail. Then he’s off making the rounds to every school to deliver and pick up any mail they have.
He looks forward to the opportunity to be out and about and getting to know a lot of people around the schools.
“Usually I’m in and out pretty fast, unless I stay and talk to somebody,” he said.
On the weekends, he loves playing music, whether it’s at church or with his brother’s band. Bass is his specialty, and he also provides backup vocals.
“Music was always a big part of my life.”
Whether it’s in his band or behind the wheel as the courier, Callahan stays busy doing important work to keep everything running smoothly.
“I try to.”
