"Battle of the Blood" Blood Drive Comes to SCHS

Hello, Patriot Families! It is time for our annual "Battle of the Blood" blood drive with LifeSouth. This blood drive is a county-wide competition. Sandy Creek would like to bring home the trophy this year for the highest participation! The drive will take place during school hours on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Sandy Creek High School. Registration for the blood drive will be next Wednesday, February 13, and Thursday, February 14, 2019, during all lunches. Please talk with your student about this amazing opportunity to donate blood! Here are some recommendations:

  • Please make sure you sign and return the parental CONSENT. Students are permitted to donate blood with parental consent at 16 and without parental consent at the age of 17. Click here to print the consent form. Consent forms will also be available at registration on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Please make sure your student weighs the minimum weight of 110 pounds.

  • Please make sure your student has eaten a great dinner the night before and breakfast the morning of the drive. It is recommended to increase iron intake a few days before the donation.

  • Please make sure your student drinks plenty of water.

We appreciate all donations in an effort to help save lives! One pint of blood saves three lives! Click here to read the INFORMATION flyer.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Smith
