Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Stockbridge, Georgia which is about 30 miles from Fayetteville.
Where did you go to college?
I attended Georgia State Universtiy in downtown Atlanta.
How long have you been teaching?
This is my 17th year of teaching.
What did you do before you became a teacher?
I was a college student, but some of the jobs I held before teaching were waitress, secretary at an equipment rental company, filer at an allergy clinic, hostess, shift manager and freight worker for a retail store.
What would you like to share about your family?
I have two step-children. Abbey is 17 and a senior and Ian is 15 and a sophomore. They both attend Whitewater High School. My husband, Jon, is an enrichment teacher in Fayette County.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to travel, hike, spend time with my nieces and nephew, read and go to concerts.
What do you like best about teaching?
I love the struggle of learning something new! Fourth grade isn't easy and I think it's awesome when my students work so hard on something and finally achieve success. It's a great feeling for all of us!
