Hammond named LIFE Academy principal
Leon Hammond is the new principal of Fayette LIFE Academy.
Hammond has served as an assistant principal and the athletic director at McIntosh High since 2019. He brings a proven background of leading teams, implementing effective programs and systems, and cultivating a culture of excellence.
“My leadership approach is rooted in building strong relationships, fostering accountability, and empowering students and staff to reach their highest potential,” said Hammond.
He considers himself a product of the mentors and coaches who have poured into him.
“Their guidance has reinforced my belief in meeting students where they are, challenging them to grow, and pushing them to realize their full potential—both academically and personally.”
Hammond was drawn to Fayette LIFE Academy because of its commitment to alternative education, providing a unique and supportive learning environment for students who may not thrive in traditional settings.
“I firmly believe in meeting students where they are and equipping them with the individualized support they need to succeed,” he said. “Fayette LIFE Academy provides students with personalized pathways to success, and I am committed to creating an environment where every learner feels motivated, supported, and equipped to achieve their goals.”
Hammond is eager to drive meaningful change and make a lasting impact with a team dedicated to creating a transformative environment where students thrive.
“I am excited to roll up my sleeves and work alongside them to improve student outcomes and help every learner reach their full potential.”
