Student Takes Third Place in Congressional Art Competition


Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district.Student Takes Third Place in Congressional Art Competition

Rachel Andrews of Sandy Creek High took third place in the third district art competition hosted by Congressman Drew Ferguson. Her acrylic painting titled “Blue Parakeet” was among the more than 100 pieces of art submitted from local high school students within the district.

As a third place winner, Andrews received a $3,500 scholarship to the Art Institute of Atlanta. Additionally, her artwork will be displayed for one year in Congressman Ferguson’s office.
