Cross Country Teams Make History at McIntosh

It was a very successful year for the boys and girls cross country teams at McIntosh High, with both combining to make history at the school.Cross Country Teams Make History at McIntosh

For the first time ever, both teams won the state championship in the same year. Not only that, but this marked Jason Newton’s first state championship as head coach of both teams. Emily Enriquez is the assistant coach of both teams.

The girls team was ranked number one in their division (AAAAA) all year long. In addition to winning the state championship, they were also the county and region champions. Team members are Megan Uszynski, Kayla Rose, Hannah Moore, Zoe Smith, Fiona Tetreault, Brianna Sattinger, and Emily McBride.

The boys team had a banner year, placing second in the region by one point, and winning the state championship by 50 points. Team members are Zach Jaeger, Vladimir Zander-Velloso, Alex DeBoy, Rease Henry, Shane Karafanda, Gabe Peacock, and Joshua Bowers.
