History was made in the Fayette County Public School System on November 27, 2017 when Flat Rock Middle became the first middle school in the county to have a state chartered middle school level chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA-ML).
Advisor Ashley Hare, business and computer science teacher, and the 12 founding members of the new chapter are ready to get to work in the areas of leadership development, community service and academic competitions. Students who are charter members of Flat Rock’s FBLA-ML chapter include Bracyn Bullard, Cayla Ivery, Duane Patrick, Faith Helton-Bragg, Jaden Torres, Jordyn Agee, Kester Emeni, Leyla Farmer, Michael Baksh, Preston Ezcagwu, William Norris, and Zora James.
“These students took the initiative to create a legacy of leadership, career preparation opportunities, scholarships, prizes, internships, and lifelong friends by becoming the founders of FBLA-ML at Flat Rock Middle School,” says Hare.
Flat Rock is one of only 46 middle schools in Georgia to have a FBLA-ML chapter.
FBLA is the largest career student business organization in the world, helping over 230,000 members each year prepare for careers in business.
