All-State Band and All-State Orchestra is the highest honor a Georgia music student can receive, and this year a total of 25 band students and 24 orchestra students from Fayette’s middle and high schools have earned membership into the state’s most elite music ensembles.
Students are required to pass two rigorous auditions before they are selected as members of the All-State Band or All-State Orchestra. They will rehearse and perform with their respective All-State ensembles March 1-3 at The Classic Center in Athens, Georgia.
The middle school All-State Orchestra members are Jodie Stone, second violin, Rising Starr Middle; Richard Wang, principal cello, Rising Starr Middle; Lucas Nyman, second violin, Rising Starr Middle; DiDi Stone, viola, Rising Starr Middle; Anna Nam, cello, J.C. Booth Middle; Dayo Lee, cello, J.C. Booth Middle; Brendan Feldman, bass, J.C. Booth Middle; and Bria Rives, bass, Bennett’s Mill Middle.
High school full orchestra members are Jennifer H. Deng, concert master first violin, McIntosh High; Min Ju Cho, principal cello, McIntosh High; Kylie I. Dickinson, principal second violin, McIntosh High; Kevin Kerner, second violin, McIntosh High; Caroline E. Cameron, viola, McIntosh High; Yuheon Lee, cello, McIntosh High; and Jesse N. Perry, bass, McIntosh High.
High school string orchestra members are Skyler Bugg, viola, Sandy Creek High; Keveen Campos, viola, Fayette County High; Sei Ko, cello, McIntosh High; Emma Bryan, cello, Sandy Creek High; and Spencer Allen Kalafut, bass, Whitewater High.
Middle school All-State Band members are Ahmad Duncan, bassoon, Flat Rock Middle; Morgan Burgess, flute, Rising Starr Middle; Luke Warnock, trombone, Rising Starr Middle; Josh Grafmiller, bassoon, Whitewater Middle; Ethan Robertson, trumpet, Whitewater Middle; and West Clayton, alto saxophone, Whitewater Middle.
High school All-State Concert Band members are Sarah Park, clarinet, McIntosh High; Shelby Chipman, clarinet, McIntosh High; Malaika Simelane, third chair alto saxophone, McIntosh High; Jaeyoung Choi, oboe, Starr’s Mill High; Matthew Castro, clarinet, Whitewater High; Daniel Chapadeau, first chair percussion, Whitewater High; Jameson Collins, trombone, Whitewater High; Camden Day, percussion, Whitewater High; Ethan Handley, bassoon, Whitewater High; Edward Huang, first chair trumpet, Whitewater High; and Mason Rzepkowski, clarinet, Whitewater High.
