Fayette County principals play a vital role in maintaining schools ‘Where Excellence Counts.’ Without their dedicated leadership, the Fayette County Public School system would not be able to give more than 20,000 students a bright start to their futures.

During this month, the school system will show its appreciation to the 25 principals of Fayette County schools and honor them for their continual dedication to school achievement and student success.

Oak Grove’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will honor principal Felecia Spicer by hosting a special recognition week. During this week, students will create a ‘Thank You’ banner to display in the main hall of the school. ‘Dress Like a Principal’ is also a part of the recognition week where students will use their creativity and dress like Spicer for the day.

Peachtree City Elementary will honor principal Kristin Berryman with heartfelt testimonials from several students expressing their appreciation. The school’s PTO will honor Berryman by making a donation to the charity of her choice.

Both Peachtree City and Oak Grove will cater their principals’ favorite lunch during this special recognition month.

The school system encourages its students, parents, staff and Fayette County community take the time to say “thank you” to all our principals for their hard work and dedication.

National Principals Month is an initiative of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and the American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA).
