Whitewater High DECA students dominated the competition at the Georgia Online Testing Events, earning the highest scores in the state and securing a spot to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference in April.
Mason Rzepkowski placed first in the state in Buying and Merchandising, Edward Huang took second place in the state in Free Enterprise Economics, and Megan Brubaker finished third in the state in Buying and Merchandising.
Rzepkowski, Huang and Brubaker were among over 1,000 students from 60 schools across Georgia who participated in the state testing. The top 10 scores in each exam category earned a spot at the international conference.
Students at the international conference have the opportunity to demonstrate their college and career knowledge and skills by participating in DECA’s Competitive Events Program. DECA participants will also experience an emerging leader series as well as college and career exhibits.
With over 200,000 members, DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
