It was a repeat performance for both schools, but this marked the first year that the choral programs from Starr’s Mill High and Whitewater High were invited to perform at Disney’s Candlelight Processional on the same weekend.
The choral programs were part of a massed choir that performed with the 50-piece world-class Walt Disney World orchestra on December 1 at the open-air America Gardens at Epcot.
The Candlelight Processional features the retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator with choral pieces woven into the production. The celebrity narrator at the December 1 performance was actor John Stamos.
Groups audition for an opportunity to perform at the processional by submitting a performance video. The audition is evaluated on appearance and costumes; interpretation and execution of music and choreography; showmanship and stage presence; accompanists; and overall show value.
