According to Colonel Paul C. Lips, director of the United States Air Force JROTC, the cadets were impressive and displayed exemplary pride in their unit. He also commended instructors Major (Retired) Shon Dodson and Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) Mark Davidson for being exceptional role models who are providing a high quality AFJROTC program.

“Your program defines the term ‘successful unit’ and establishes the benchmark for others to follow,” Lips said in a congratulatory letter to Dodson and Davidson.

In addition to the rating, cadets Fernando Madera and Kathy Reyes-Ventura were recognized as Superior Performers.

The purpose of the formal unit evaluation is to provide feedback regarding the performance of the AFJROTC unit and to assess its compliance with public law, United States Department of Defense and Air Force instructions, and the written agreement that exists between the school system and the Air Force.
