Within a six-month time span, one Fayette County Public School System administrator has received two state awards honoring her for her work in helping students become college and career ready through career and technical education.
Dr. Margo Wimbish, dean of students for the Fayette County Public School System’s alternative program, is the recipient of the Trade and Industrial Educators of Georgia (TIEGA) 2019 Administrator of the Year award for furthering the growth and development of career and technical education.
Recipients of the award exhibit dedication and professionalism that shines above expectations. The award was designed to recognize local school system administrators for their participation in, and support of, programs that further the development of career and technical education within their school systems. Because of their dedication, leadership and support of these programs, students are able to have meaningful experiences that will help them move forward in their careers after high school.
This marks the second award Wimbish has received this calendar year for her work in furthering career and technical education. This past spring she was named the Georgia Technology Student Association’s Administrator of the Year.
