Sandy Creek High Grads Win Scholarships for Design Excellence

Two recent graduates of Sandy Creek High School, Hannah Ohlmeier and Megan D’Errico, were winners in the Printing and Imaging Association of Georgia (PIAG) Student Design Excellence Competition, earning substantial scholarships for use toward their post-secondary education endeavors. Sandy Creek High Grads Win Scholarships for Design Excellence

Ohlmeier received a $3,000 renewable scholarship and D’Errico received a $4,400 renewable scholarship. They received their awards at the association’s annual imPRESS Industry Showcase and Awards banquet that was held at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta on August 8.

Ohlmeier is a freshman this year at the University of Georgia where she is majoring in digital design. D’Errico, a junior at Kennesaw State University, is also majoring in digital design. This marks Ohlmeier’s first scholarship year; D’Errico is entering the third year of her renewable scholarship and has been awarded $10,900 to date.

Also at the banquet and representing SkillsUSA Georgia and the Georgia Graphics Pathway were Sandy Creek High SkillsUSA chapter members Liberty Harris and Ben Dykes.
