Fayette County Celebrates Bus Drivers

Fayette County Public Schools will show its appreciation for all bus drivers this month by hosting a special breakfast in their honor. 

School bus transportation plays a critical role in students’ education, as bus drivers are responsible for transporting children from the neighborhood to the classroom each day.
 
The vital service that school bus drivers provide to students and their parents will be the focus of a school bus driver appreciation breakfast hosted by the school system’s transportation department on October 23.  
 
Although there is a national day of recognition each year for school bus drivers, schools often show their appreciation all year long by presenting their drivers with gifts and accolades. Roxane Owen, director of transportation, says, “Some schools honor their [bus] drivers every day.”
 
On this day and every day, the school system encourages its students, parents, staff and Fayette County community take the time to say “thank you” to all the bus drivers for their hard work and dedication.
