Sandy Creek High School Student to Compete for Junior Miss Earth USA 2020

Courtney Lewis, a freshman at Sandy Creek High School, hopes to add the title of Junior Miss Earth USA to her name after competing in this weekend’s virtual Junior Miss Earth USA 2020 Pageant.

Junior Miss Earth USA is an extension of MISS EARTH USA which promotes environmental awareness while offering young girls the opportunity to get involved in their communities, gain modeling experience, enhance public speaking skills and create relationships with female mentors. With a passion for recycling and environmental preservation, Lewis is sure to be a top competitor.

Her passion for the environment comes from seeing her previous schools with no accessible recycle bins for students, which she states only added to a growing waste problem.

As a part of her environmental service project for the pageant, she created recycle bins from used water bottles and wire hangers.

At Sandy Creek High, Courtney is actively involved in STEM, track and field, show choir and student council.

Currently, Lewis holds a number of titles including: Junior Miss Alabama Earth USA, Teen Miss Stars, Stripes and Diamonds and Teen Miss Geranium Festival.
