Flat Rock Middle Celebrates Computer Science Education Week with Special Guests

Flat Rock Middle students in Ashley Hare’s business class had the privilege to hear from a variety of guest speakers during Computer Science Education Week December 7 – 13.  

Computer Science Education Week honors the work of computer scientists from around the globe as well as introduces students to the world of computer science. 

Special guests included the school system’s coordinator of innovative partnership development, Virginia Gibbs; Griffin RESA math specialist, Sara Wilson; vice president of Fidelity Bank, Brandon Sherman; instructional technology specialist, Leslie Fagin; and development engineer, Harrison Gibbs.

Guest speakers shared their knowledge with students showing them how technology is used in their careers.

Students also had the opportunity to participate in coding activities.
