School Board Earns Exemplary Status from Georgia School Boards Association

The Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) has recognized the Fayette County Board of Education as an exemplary board, the highest level of recognition that can be achieved through the organization’s three tier, three-year awards process designed to offer school boards additional ways to increase effectiveness. School Board Earns Exemplary Status from Georgia School Boards Association

The 2020 recognition marks the fifth time that the Fayette County Board of Education has achieved exemplary status. The Fayette County Board of Education consists of Scott Hollowell, chairman, District 3; Roy Rabold, vice-chairman, District 2; Dr. Barry Marchman, District 1; Leonard Presberg, District 4; and Brian Anderson, District 5.

The recognition program is designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership. GSBA recognizes good school board governance to foster educational community cultures in order to advance student learning and achievement.
