Starr’s Mill Student Organizes Community Blood Drive

“Investing in my community is important because I want my hometown to be the best it can be. In less than two years, I’ll be off to college and I hope to return to a better community than when I left. I think that change starts with me,” this was the heart and motivation behind Ashley Sikes’ community blood drive. Starr’s Mill Student Organizes Community Blood Drive

Sikes, a junior at Starr’s Mill High, partnered with Kristin Cristelli, a school counselor at J.C. Booth Middle School, and the LifeSouth Community Blood Center, to organize a local blood drive.

The blood drive will be held on Thursday, January 21 at J.C. Booth Middle School (250 Peachtree Parkway South, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269) from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To register, visit www.tinyurl.com/JCBoothBloodDrive.

From promotional flyers to securing the event location, Sikes worked hard to ensure she helped her community while making a difference in the lives of others.

“Ashley is an individual who is always striving to give others the best version of herself and looks for ways to give back to her community,” says her coach and mentor Kristin Cristelli.
