SkillsUSA Students Earn Top Medals at Regional Competition

Four students representing Fayette County High, Sandy Creek High and Starr’s Mill High brought home gold, silver and bronze medals from the SkillsUSA Region 5 Competition.

It has been a tough year for student competitors who have had to get used to competing, and in some cases, practicing, in a virtual environment for their competitions. Although competitions have been conducted differently this year, Fayette’s students are showing that they have grit and are rising to the top in their competitive events.

Hannah Ramirez of Starr’s Mill High and Danielle Howard of Sandy Creek High earned a gold and silver medal, respectively, in Job Interview and will be advancing to the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference that will be held virtually in March.

Bronze medal winners from the regional conference are Jacob Morgan and Daylon Peterson, both from Fayette County High, placing in Automotive Services Technology and Extemporaneous Speaking, respectively.
