Burch Bears run virtual race for a purpose

The pandemic prevented a large in-person run, but nothing could stop the Robert J. Burch Elementary community from giving back. The 9th annual Burch Bear Tracks Race was held virtually this year, and it raised funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Type 1 Diabetes research, as well as the Burch PE program.

There were seven sponsors for the run and about 75 participants, with Pope Family Dentistry and Brent Scarbrough & Co. both donating $500 each. Over the nine years the race has been run, about $30,000 has been raised to benefit a number of important causes.
