School System Receives Awards for Finance Excellence

Fayette County Public Schools has received two national awards for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2020.

The school system received the Association of School Business Officials International’s (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award, having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability.

Additionally, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded the school system a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

Both awards confirm the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency by publishing a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report that is well organized and easy to read. The contents of the report conform to program standards that satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and legal requirements.
