Kedron class makes their own snow day

Usually a snow day means no school, but one class at Kedron Elementary made their own snow day and filled it with learning. Students in Elizabeth Downs’s ACCESS class made their study of animals and their winter habits even more exciting by making their own winter wonderland.

While learning about how animals adapt and live during the cold winter months, they did a thematic sensory activity where they made pretend “snow,” and students were invited to explore in the "snow" with figurines of animals that are commonly found in the snow.

Downs was thrilled to see how much her students enjoyed the activity.

“I hope this activity helped them build vocabulary and allowed them to make a real life connection to snow, since it is something we rarely see in Georgia!”
