Always coming to work with a smile and a dedication to serving students, Shelly Smiley of McIntosh High has been named the Fayette County School Nutrition Hero of the Year for 2022.
Managers were asked to nominate members of their staff for the honor that demonstrate extreme dedication to the School Nutrition Program. These individuals show up to work every day with a work ethic beyond measure.
The other finalists for the award were Lakesha Mitchell (Starr’s Mill, Rising Starr), Lynn Rush (North Fayette Elem.), Gail Standifer (Cleveland Elem.), Trina Poole (Crabapple Lane Elem.), Ana Espinosa (Booth Middle), Jenny Ann Bradley (Huddleston Elem.), Katie O'Neal Odom (Oak Grove Elem.), Erin Gaines (Whitewater High), Mary Zackery (Inman Elem.), and Anh Nguyen (Fayette County High).
