Knights go on safari

When they finished Milestones testing, the Knights partied like animals, or they partied with animals at least. Kedron Elementary 5th graders went on a field trip to a drive-tru animal park to say hello to the creatures and goodbye to testing.

The kids rode through the 300-acre animal safari park and viewed many kinds of animals, including giraffes, zebras, buffalo, deer, and pigs. They fed the animals and viewed them up close and personal, and many stuck their heads right in the windows of the bus.

Teacher Tabatha Dearman was thrilled to see the students connecting with nature.

“We were hoping for the kids to take away a respect for animals and the environment, along with making the standards that we've learned about ‘come alive.’”
