Bunco night brings Cardinals together

A bit of friendly competition brought the Crabapple Lane Elementary family together on Bunco night. Bunco, a popular dice game, proved to be a perfect way to gather the Cardinal community.

The night was inspired by parent Nicole Mennicke, who started a Bunco night for her neighborhood. It has been a great way for residents there to get to know one another, so she offered to organize a night for Crabapple Lane.

“Our two main goals this year are to build community for our CLES stakeholders and to support and appreciate our teachers,” said PTO President Andrea Steele. “Covid has made it challenging for our students, parents, and teachers to connect. This was a fun way for people to get to know each other.”

The overall winner won ice cream for her children’s classes. The winners for most buncos and the biggest loser with the most losses, their unlucky Principal Vicki Rachels, won CLES water bottles filled with candy.

“We hope participants enjoyed themselves and were able to make new relationships with other parents, teachers, and school administrators,” said Steele. “We want them to feel connected to one another and to our school.”
