Rob Bell, an engineering and computer science teacher at Starr’s Mill High and Fayette County’s 2024 Teacher of the year, is among an elite group of 20 Georgia educators selected to participate in the 2024-2025 class of LEAD CTAE.

The program is sponsored by the CTAE Resource Network, Georgia Association of Career and Technical Education, and the Georgia Department of Education.
Bell was selected from over 70 applicants. Applicants were rated on motivation and perseverance, interest in CTAE leadership, willingness to learn from others and accept guidance, independence, ability to work effectively as a team member, ability to apply learned concepts to new situations and ideas and being self-directed.
Throughout the year, he will participate in six program sessions that are designed to help participants develop valuable skills and knowledge in the areas of team building, leadership, priority management, business engagement, legislative advocacy and policy, communication, instruction, and economic development.
The opening session was held October 19-21 at Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier Islands. Participants will graduate from the program in June at the GACTE Conference in Athens.
