Towers wins Kayla’s Kreation Scholarship
Arielle Towers from Whitewater High is the winner of this year’s Kayla’s Kreation Scholarship. Towers will be attending Savannah College of Art and Design and majoring in graphic design.
This year, they also awarded a book stipend to Starr’s Mill High students Briana and Rihana Harris-Otero. They will be attending Kennesaw State and majoring in digital animation.
The Kayla’s Kreation Scholarship was created to honor aspiring scholars who shared a love of the arts like Kayla Bailey. Bailey, a 2015 graduate of McIntosh High, passed away suddenly in May 2018 after her sophomore year of college, and her parents, Roderick and Crystal, honor their daughter’s life through the scholarship.
In addition to scholarships, Kayla’s Kloset helps girls prepare for events like prom and homecoming without the high costs associated with purchasing dresses, shoes, and accessories. This year, they sponsored 10 students for the Tapp Middle School 8th grade dance and two Fayette County High students for their prom.
