Over 50 Science and Engineering Projects Headed to Regional Competition

After evaluating 155 science and engineering projects submitted by students from all five of Fayette’s middle and high schools, judges of the Fayette County Science and Engineering Fair are advancing 56 of them to the regional competition.Over 50 Science and Engineering Projects Headed to Regional Competition

A total of 31 middle school students and 49 high school students, sharing the 56 projects, will compete at the Griffin RESA Regional Science and Engineering Fair on February 7 for an opportunity to participate in the state competition. Only students who placed first in the county competition are eligible to represent Fayette at the regional event.

Booth Middle) Diane Kwon, Marc van Zyl, Emily White, Angela Giovanelli, Matthew Villiger, Matthew D'Morais, Roshan Kolachina, Harsh Singh, (Flat Rock Middle) Miles Robinson, Brianna Dozier, (Rising Starr Middle) Smrithi Thomas, Casey Dearman, Olivia Pokorski, Eileen Simmons, Kaylee Macoy, Carlee Campbell, (Whitewater Middle) Autumn Kontos, Leah Johnson, Christopher Baker,Tyler Klinger, Carpenter Ray, Cheyenne Mitchell, Emily Wagner, Olivia Ray, Zayden Leischner, and Reid Barlow.

Overall, 231 students from all of Fayette’s middle and high schools competed in the school system’s science and engineering fair.
