Starr’s Mill High Wins Directors Cup for Overall Athletic Performance

Starr’s Mill High continues to be a top athletic performer in the state, taking yet another Georgia Athletic Directors Association Regions Bank Directors Cup award.Starr’s Mill High Wins Directors Cup for Overall Athletic Performance

This marks the fourth time in five years that the overall athletic program at Starr’s Mill High has taken first place in the Directors Cup competition in classification 5-A. In addition to winning the overall award, the Starr’s Mill High girls program took first place in the state in classification 5-A.

The purpose of the Regions Bank Directors Cup is to recognize athletic departments in all Georgia High School Association classifications that have excelled and shown superior performance. The award is presented to the state’s top boys program, top girls program, and top overall program in each classification based on a high school’s performance in 25 different sports.

The 25 different sports for which schools earn points for the Directors Cup include: football, girls volleyball, boys and girls cross country, girls fast pitch and slow pitch softball, boys and girls basketball, competition cheerleading, wrestling, riflery, gymnastics, boys and girls swimming, boy and girls track and field, boys and girls golf, baseball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls lacrosse, and boys and girls tennis.
