Teacher Selected for Inaugural SuperTeacher Program

Only six teachers have been selected be part of an elite group who will help guide the development of classroom learning tools that will be used by thousands of educators throughout the nation. One of those teachers happens to be none other than Jessica League, a 10-year veteran senior English and Advanced Placement (AP) research teacher at Fayette County High School. She has also taught English and special education. Teacher Selected for Inaugural SuperTeacher Program

League is in the inaugural class of the Infinite Campus SuperTeachers program. Infinite Campus, a popular student information system used by many school systems, including Fayette County Public Schools, also provides instructional tools to help teachers in planning instruction, assessing student growth, and reporting progress.

Teachers chosen as SuperTeachers have demonstrated a passion for their profession, and are experienced Infinite Campus users who are willing to try new things, and share their knowledge and experience with their colleagues. They will meet virtually throughout the year to offer feedback and insights to Infinite Campus. They will help the company design training materials for teachers and will try those materials out in their school systems. The will also get a sneak peek at upcoming new tools and will be providing their feedback.

Infinite Campus started the selection process this past summer, looking at usage data of its instructional tools by school systems across the nation, and Fayette County Public Schools was quickly identified as a top user, according to Cathy Fredrick with Infinite Campus. From there, Fedrick worked with the school system to identify those teachers who use the tools the most, and met judging criteria that included school system recommendation and experience teaching a variety of subjects and grade levels. Those teachers were invited to complete a questionnaire. Responses from the questionnaire, coupled with the judging criteria, led Fedrick to select Fayette County High’s Jessica League as one of the first teachers inducted in to the Infinite Campus’ SuperTeacher program.
