Child Wellbeing Update Presented by Fayette County Public Schools and United Way of Greater Atlanta

The public is invited to attend a community conversation focused on improving the lives of children in Fayette County on November 20 starting 9 a.m. at the Fayette County Public Schools Goza Road Operations Center, transportation training room, located at 939 Goza Road in Fayetteville. Fayette County has a child wellbeing index score of 81.1, the highest of the 13 county region. While this is great news, the numbers indicate that there is room for improvement in ensuring that all children have the resources they need to be successful

A panel of local education, business and community leaders has been assembled to help facilitate discussions for seeking solutions that will help all children and families thrive. Panelists include Dr. Joseph C. Barrow, Fayette County Public Schools superintendent; Colin Martin, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce president and CEO; Dawn C. Oparah, Fayette FACTOR executive director; Charles D. Rousseau, Fayette County Commission, district 4; and Kimberly Schnoes, community leader and financial advocate. The panel will be moderated by Brandon S. Sherman, Fidelity Bank vice president and bank manager.

Discussion topics will include strategies and solutions to help children and families thrive, the role that private, corporate and government sectors play in advancing child wellbeing, the critical partners needed to drive changes, and policy modifications or adjustments needed to advance child wellbeing in the county.
