Fayette County Public Schools is currently in the process of adopting K-5 mathematics textbooks for the 2023-2024 school year. They welcome public input in the process prior to the final recommendation to the Fayette County Board of Education for adoption. The textbooks will be available for review through January 31, 2023. IB Student Publishes Children's Book About Colorism
Analisa Davis, an International Baccalaureate student at Sandy Creek High, has published her first children's book about colorism. She talks about her inspiration for the book, and why she feels this is an important topic to address with young children. Watch the video.
Erick Jefferson, the school system's youngest bus driver, started driving at 19 while pursuing his college education. He talks about why he drives, and why the job is a great side gig for college students who need extra income. He graduates in May with a degree in Criminal Justice. Watch the video.
