Birthdays are a special day and an important time to celebrate with classmates. However, we are experiencing a growing number of students with severe food allergies. For the 2015-16 school year, we have made the decision to not allow cupcakes/cakes, or other food items brought in for birthday celebrations.
We would still love to celebrate your child’s special day. If you would like an alternative idea for your child’s birthday celebration, please reference our 2015 – 2016 Family Handbook and speak with your child’s teacher.

Kim, Associate Professor of Education at Harvard University, reading at least 4 to 5 books over the summer is enough to prevent a decline in reading achievement scores over the summer.
