    Cross Country XC

    Each spring, schools around Fayette create Cross Country Running Teams to compete in the PTC SC Challenge. Running distances are 1.24 miles for K-3 and 1.86 for 4th and 5th.     D.A.R.E.

    D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches 5th Grade students how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. Corporal Paul Smilley will begin in January to teach this 10-week program to our 5th Grade students.

    G.I.T. Fit

    GIT Fit promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual fitness for 4th and 5th grade girls. There will be physical activity, discussion of nutrition, and we will discuss issues pertaining to girls in light of what the Bible says. whitson.natalie@mail.fcboe.org

    Good News Club

    Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship that meets each Monday with each student's parent’s permission. Each week the leaders present exciting Bible lessons.  This time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme.  jones.jennifer@mail.fcboe.org 

    Math Team

    Every year, our county hosts an elementary math tournament. Each school sends a team of 4th graders and 5th graders to compete. Each team consists of three team members and one alternate. The teams prepare months ahead of time at their individual schools. The 2019-2020 math tournaments will take place on May 6th (4th grade) and May 7th (5th grade).  whitson.natalie@mail.fcboe.org

    Poetry Recitation

    Poetry Recitation is a unique challenge for interested students. Students memorize a poem for reciting in front of their peers and can advance to the County Poetry Festival.  Guidelines are available in late fall with the County recitation typically in January.  willis.shannon@mail.fcboe.org

    Running Club

    Coaches King and Turk host Running Club each morning (weather pending) throughout the school year.  Open to all, students can use their laps to earn mileage towards the fall Kids Marathon.  king.julie@mail.fcboe.org 

    Safety Patrol

    Safety patrol is for responsible 4th and 5th grade students interested in making Oak Grove a safe and friendly place for students arriving and leaving each day. Safety patrol members will assist at car rider drop off in the mornings or afternoons as well as bus duty. price.heather@mail.fcboe.org

    STEAM Club

    STEAM is a model for curriculum based on the idea of educating students across all disciplines - specifically science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. STEAM is everywhere and in everything we do, and how we live. From the natural world around us to the tablets in our hands that show us the world far, far away. STEAM builds thinkers, doers and innovators!
