Students in the Art Connections class study art history and many different styles and techniques for creating art. Field trips are offered at least once a year to see exhibits at the High Museum of Art, the Carlos Museum, or the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. In class, students may experiment with drawing, painting, collage, ceramics, sculpture, weaving, photography, printmaking, computer art, and graphic design. Students will be given enough time to complete all work during class. Also, there are no firm due dates! Projects will be accepted for full credit at any time during the term up until the last day. Students self-evaluate their work using rubrics and if not satisfied with scores, may improve their projects for more points. The best works of art are chosen for display throughout the school and community including at the BMMS Fine Arts Night, the Old Courthouse Art Show, the County Board of Education offices, and online at the Fayette County Student Art Gallery
