• First-year High School Student Advisement

Freshman advisement for our 8th graders begins with career exploration utilizing the GA Futures website (fomerly GAcollege411).

During the three years of middle school, students will complete various self-assessments and inventories to identify areas of interest. Before high school registration, each student will identify a career cluster he or she would like to explore further.

In the spring, our 8th graders will visit Whitewater High School during the school day. They will be shown how to register for high school on the registration portal and will receive information about electives. Many electives are part of a career cluster and students will be encouraged to register for classes in their interest area.

There will be a meeting for parents covering the same information at 6:30 pm the same evening. At that time, the portal will open for 8th grade/freshman registration following the meetings. Students and parents are encouraged to access the registration portal between the release dates (which will be posted at a later date).

Counselors will be available to answer student questions and help those who have difficulty registering. Any questions after registration is closed should be directed to the high school.
