Eight students win at state tech competition
Fayette students filled the winners’ podium at the 2024 Georgia Student Technology Competition (GaSTC).
A total of 8 local students won 1st place.
Christian Lee of North Fayette Elementary won for Animation for the 3/4th grade division. Gauri Krishnan of Peeples Elementary won for Audio Production for the 3/4th grade division. Amari Kemp of Bennett’s Mill Middle won for Device Modification for the 5/6th grade division. Michelle Freeman of Kedron Elementary won for Internet Applications for the 5/6th grade division. Alexander Myers and Mehdi Momin of Peachtree City Elementary won for Device Modification for the 3/4th grade division. Venya Nagesh Kotyal and Sophia Rodriguez of Rising Starr Middle won for Robotics for the 7/8th grade division.
Five students finished 2nd in their competition.
Aadi Vaidya of McIntosh placed 2nd for 3D Modeling for the 9/10th grade division. Ayaan Popatiya of McIntosh placed 2nd for Internet Applications for the 9/10th grade division. Priyanshi Mutreja of JC Booth Middle placed 2nd for Device Modification for the 7/9th grade division. Saket Sonone of JC Booth Middle placed 2nd for Digital Game Design for the 7/8th grade division. Penny Galasso of Peachtree City Elementary placed 2nd for Digital Photo Production for the 5/6th grade division.
Four students placed 3rd in their competition.
Thomas Schafer of Peeples Elementary placed 3rd for Digital Game Design for the 3/4th grade division. Leo Nam of Kedron Elementary placed 3rd for Robotics for the 5/6th grade division. Liam Crawford and Lila Schauer of Oak Grove Elementary placed 3rd for Audio Production for the 5/6th grade division.
GaSTC is a statewide technology competition where students in grades 3-12 compete in a variety of technology categories with a goal to challenge students to become leaders in a digital age.
