Wildcats flock to Coffee, Cookies, and Lit

The Whitewater High media center is buzzing over Coffee, Cookies, and Lit.

Coffee, Cookies, and Lit encourages independent reading and exploration for many who may rarely visit the media center. During the first two Fridays, more than 600 students from 10 English Language Arts (ELA) classes participated. Every student silently read while eating cookies, sipping iced coffee, sweet tea or chocolate milk, and listening to soft jazz.

It has been an exciting opportunity for the media center to collaborate with the ELA team to make reading fun.

“We now have lots of new books following a recent reading choice survey for our students,” said media specialist Matia Edwards. “It's never too late to start reading for pleasure.”
