Wildcats look to LaCROSSe Out Cancer

For the Whitewater High lacrosse program, there are victories bigger than those on the scoreboard. On Thursday, March 14, the Wildcats host East Coweta High in a LaCROSSe Out Cancer fundraiser to fight pediatric cancer.

Every $50 funds 1 hour of research, and the Cats are working this year to raise $10,000 to benefit Stand Up For Cancer and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.

Boys varsity head coach Evan Bryant wants his players to realize the impact they can make. Every day, 47 kids in America are diagnosed with pediatric cancer, and the Cats want to help them fight.

“As a way of remembering and keeping our focus on the greater cause, we have been doing 47 push ups as a team at the end of each practice and game. We are doing this to remember the fight that young children are going through each day as they battle this disease,” said Bryant. “It is my hope that our team and community can win the fight this season and help raise the funds to fight pediatric cancer.”
