  • About Braelinn Elementary

Braelinn Elementary School is a public elementary school located in a neighborhood setting. This setting allows students to arrive at school in many different ways: walk, ride with their parents on a golf cart or bicycle, carpool or ride a bus. Braelinn opened in 1990 as a K-5 elementary school having 847 students, 69 faculty and support staff, and two administrators.

The school mascot is the Braelinn Star. The school colors are kelly green, royal blue, and yellow. The school motto is “Be the kind of leader YOU would follow.”

Braelinn Elementary has been a  Leader in Me School since 2014 and received Lighthouse Status in 2017. During the 2019-20 school year, the school went through an exciting year of revitalizing Leader in Me as well as merging it with PBIS. Braelinn staff feels that PBIS and Leader in Me can be married together by focusing on positive climate and student voice.

Braelinn holds a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation. During the 2019-20 school year, Braelinn was awarded an award for “Highest Performing Schools” by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. The 2020 Science Olympiad team won 1st place in the county level competition.

Braelinn is very fortunate to have an extraordinary amount of community support. The Parent Teacher Organization conducts numerous fund-raising projects throughout each school year. These funds are used for academic support,  playground improvements, technology needs, landscape and courtyard improvements, and staff appreciation. Volunteers assist in the following areas: media center, school directory, holiday lunches, staff appreciation lunches, classroom support, workroom, courtyard, school grounds, cultural arts programs, publicity, school calendar, website, and newsletter.
