• Students have the opportunity to join many clubs and organizations at Kedron Elementary School. Specific club offerings are based on the number of interested students and the availability of staff advisors.

      • Broadcast is open to all 5th graders and helps them develop public speaking, communication, and technology skills. Students create a daily, live broadcast for the staff and students at Kedron. This group is sponsored by Cassandra Hornung, Media Specialist, and Marie Pafford, Media Center Paraprofessional. Interested students complete and submit an application at the beginning of the school year.

      • Budding Artists is available to 4th and 5th grade students. Students will explore a variety of 2D and 3D media including paint, printmaking, clay, and sculpture. All projects are connected to learning about artists, styles, and cultures. Budding Artists meets from 3:30 to 4:45 on Thursdays. This club is sponsored by Joy Kembel, Art Teacher.

      • Cross Country is available to 1st-5th grade students. Beginning in March, participants prepare to compete against other elementary students across Fayette County at an annual Cross Country meet. The Cross Country coaches are Emily Peurifoy, PE Teacher, and Cody Haralson, PE Teacher.

      • Origami Club is available to 3rd-5th grade students. Beginning in October, students meet regularly to learn the art of paper folding. Origami Club is sponsored by Susan Gillard, ESOL Teacher.

      • Jump Rope Club is available to 2nd grade students. Beginning in December, Jump Rope Club students meet on Friday mornings and work to improve their jump roping coordination, stamina, and speed. The Jump Rope Club coaches are Emily Peurifoy, PE Teacher, and Cody Haralson, PE Teacher.

      • Kedron Cavaliers Chorus is led by the Chorus Director, Scott Simmons, and is open to 4th and 5th grade students. Students attend regular practices and develop skills in the area of performing arts. The chorus performs at least twice during the school year.

      • Kindness Krew is open to all 4th and 5th grade students. The goals of the club are to engage students through high-interest activities, create a more connected, healthy, and inspired school environment, and help students build relationships and skills to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. This group is sponsored by Roxana Beatriz Jones, ESOL Teacher, and Linda Goodall, Building Skills Teacher. Interested students complete and submit an application at the beginning of the school year.

      • K-Kids Club 4th and 5th graders can apply to become members. Students participate in community projects to develop leadership skills and promote community awareness. K-Kids is sponsored by EIP Teacher, Karissa Jones.

      • Knights Code Student Technology Team invites 3rd-5th grade students to apply in September. Students whose applications are accepted will create a technology-based project and present the project to a panel of judges at the county student technology competition. Winners will move on to the regional competition and ultimately compete at the state level. Knights Code club sponsors are Erin Keith, Technology Specialist, and Cassandra Hornung, Media Specialist.

      • Running Club is available to 1st-5th grade students to enhance fitness through running. Students run or walk around the track and earn certificates for accumulating laps. The Running Club coaches are Emily Peurifoy, PE Teacher, and Cody Haralson, PE Teacher.

      • Safety Patrol is made up of 5th graders. The purpose of this group is to be a volunteer who wants to protect and encourage our students to observe safety rules. Members of the Safety Patrol will be good role models who can fairly enforce the rules while also fostering the qualities of leadership and good citizenship.  Safety Patrol is sponsored by Tabatha Dearman, Enrichment Teacher.

      • Science Olympiad is a competitive team available to 3rd-5th-grade students who are selected through a tryout process. Science Olympiad develops a passion for and understanding of various science concepts and skills. Students become scientists, engineers, and researchers, as they participate in a variety of competitive science-related events.The Science Olympiad coach is Kori Perez, 4th Grade Teacher.

      • Student Ambassadors consist of one student from each class who helps our school become the best it can be and welcomes new students. Members also represent KES Knights by assisting the administration in making school-wide decisions as a part of the Principal's Advisory Council. Nicole Douglas and Austin Venrick, School Counselors, sponsor the Student Ambassador program.
