Volleyball Information

  • Volleyball Meeting for Current 6th and 7th Grade Girls

     

    Volleyball Tryouts Sign-up:

    If your daughter is interested in trying out for the Rising Starr volleyball team, please sign up using the Google form.  Click here to sign up for tryouts. 

     

    Informational Meeting:

    There will be an afternoon informational meeting with current 6th and 7th grade students on Tuesday, May 6.  Girls will meet in the gym after school.  Parents need to pick up their daughter outside of the Rising Starr gym at 4:00.  Please do not enter the bus parking lot until the high school buses leave (usually 3:55). 

     

    Middle School Eligibility Requirements:

    • Students must pass all 4 academic subjects the semester preceding participation.

    • Students must adhere to all rules and regulations outlined in the Athletic/Extracurricular Code of Conduct and/or specific written guidelines developed by the coach and/or school administration.

    • Required forms must be submitted to RankOne.  Parents need to go to www.rankone.com to create an account for your child.  You need to know your child's student ID number. All athletic forms can be found on the FCBOE webpage.  Click here for required forms. 

    • These forms need to be uploaded to RankOne by July 28. 

     

    General Volleyball Information:

    • If you make the 7th or 8th grade volleyball team, practices are mandatory and will be after school until 5:00.
    • The season begins at the start of the school year and finishes at the end of September.
    • Volleyball matches take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
    • There are eight regular-season matches - one home match and one away match vs. each Fayette County Middle School.
    • 7th grade plays at 5:30 and 8th grade plays at 6:30. 
    • 8th grade will have a one-day tournament at the end of the season to determine the county champion.

    Tryouts Dates and Times: 

    Volleyball tryouts will be held at the start of the 2025 school year.  Dates and times will be shared at the informational meeting on May 6.
