A Letter from Principal Maggie Walls

  • McIntosh Family:

I am honored to have the opportunity to join the McIntosh High School faculty as principal for the 2023-2024 school year. McIntosh is a school of rich traditions and is known for its dedication to excellence and, more importantly, to students. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, or on the field, I want to continue to support teachers and parents so that our students can use their highest potentials to shape their futures.

Over the past 18 years, I have worked as a teacher and, most recently, as the assistant principal of Whitewater High School. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to MHS and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success. I firmly believe that every child can succeed and that cooperation between home and school builds the trust needed to ensure results in student achievement.

As a former McIntosh English teacher, I know that our students are curious about the world around them; they have a passion for improving their community and a genuine desire to do well in life. I believe that by working together, we can create a supportive environment where they can reach their personal best; our students will rise to any expectations that we place on them.

My primary goals for the upcoming school year are:

➨ COMMUNICATION - to develop a strong collaborative relationship with teachers, students, parents, and staff to determine the goals, expectations, and foundation of McIntosh High School.

➨ CURRICULUM - to continue to enhance instruction through the use of formative assessment and best practices so that all students achieve their potential.

➨ CULTURE - to build excitement and momentum for the varied programs at McIntosh while celebrating the successes of our students both inside and outside of the classroom.

As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors - students, parents, teachers, and staff - are valued and excited to be a part of the McIntosh family. Working together, we will continue to enhance instruction and build on the successes of our thriving fine arts community and successful athletic programs. As you think of what McIntosh means to your family, I encourage you to contact me and tell me two things:

What must be honored at McIntosh High School?

What concerns do you have about McIntosh High School?

Each and every Chief plays a significant role in ensuring the success of McIntosh High School. I am confident that with your commitment and involvement, we will have an outstanding 2023-2024 school year. I look forward to meeting you and to working with you over the coming years.

    Go CHIEFS!
