• PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)

    What is PBIS?

School-wide PBIS is a proactive systematic approach that has been found to improve the behavior outcomes of students.  At Flat Rock Middle School, staff members work together to consistently teach, model, and reinforce appropriate behaviors that students are expected to use in all areas of the school, including hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, restrooms, media center, and bus loop.

PBIS teaches students to be responsible for their own behaviors. The three B’s of Flat Rock are:

Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.

Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve chances for academic success for all students.

This matrix lists the behaviors we expect from students.

Students can earn eagle bucks from Flat Rock faculty by displaying appropriate behavior and following the school’s 3 expectations/rules: BE Respectful, BE Responsible, BE Safe

Students can redeem Eagle Bucks at our new PBIS store, “The Nest”, which is located near the concession stand behind the cafeteria.
