Prolonged Absence Due to Illness
The Fayette County Board of Education provides a hospital homebound teacher for students who are absent for long periods of time due to illness. Parents should notify the Guidance Office to request the services of the homebound teacher. In order to qualify for services, a physician must verify in writing that the student will be absent from school for at least 2weeks. The student is placed on homebound status as soon as the Principal and the visiting teacher approve the physician’s recommendation. Parents should contact the counselor’s office for more information.
