    Maggie Walls is an experienced educator who began her career with Fayette County Public Schools in 1999 as an English teacher at Starr’s Mill High School. Mrs. Walls later joined the McIntosh faculty and served as an English teacher, English department chair, and 2017-18 Teacher of the Year. Most recently, she was an assistant principal at Whitewater High School.   

    Driven by a desire to serve others, she takes pride in supporting the work of teachers and building relationships with students and parents. Mrs. Walls is from Marianna, Florida and attended Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She later received her Masters of Education from the University of West Georgia and a Specialist in Education from Kennesaw State University. 

    Mrs. Walls and her husband Jason have been members of the Fayette County community since 1998. She is the proud mother of four children. Her oldest son is a 2021 graduate of Whitewater High School and is attending the University of Louisville as part of the ULEAD program. Her triplets graduated from Whitewater High School in June 2023 and are attending different colleges this fall. Mrs. Walls most enjoys spending time with her family and visiting the Florida panhandle. She is an avid reader and believes in the power of the written word. She is looking forward to the school year and continuing to work with teachers, students, and families to continue to build on the successes of our thriving academic, athletic, and fine arts programs.  

    Today is a great day to be a McIntosh CHIEF.

Mr. Daniel S. Lakly, Assistant Principal

    Daniel S. Lakly is beginning his 29th year in education.  After 18+ years as a teacher, building level administrator and district level administrator in the state of Georgia, he spent three years in Central Florida as an Area Administrator for Student Support Services and as Assistant Principal at Millennium Middle Fine Arts/Communication Magnet School in Sanford Florida.  Mr. Lakly is a 1987 graduate of McIntosh High School.  Mr. Lakly is a three time graduate of the University of Georgia, earning a BSED in Secondary Social Science Education, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and an Ed.S in Administration and Supervision.  During his career Mr. Lakly has served as the Community Involvement Chairperson in Seminole County Public Schools, cluster chairperson of Elementary Sunshine Committee in Gwinnett County Public Schools, vice-chair of school redistricting committee 2006-08 in Gwinnett County Public Schools and was the executive director of the 20th Annual Georgia Psycho-Educational Conference in 1997.  Mr. Lakly is happily married to Michelle and is the father of twin sons Jack and Connor.

Mrs. Nicole Guest, Assistant Principal

    Mrs. Nicole Guest is beginning her 19th year in education. She is a McIntosh High School alumni, graduating class of 1997. After graduation, she continued her education and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from The University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!). She then attended Kennesaw State University to complete a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She is currently completing her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. 

    She began her career as a high school Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Woodland High School in Bartow County Georgia. She then taught special education classes in Cobb, Cherokee, Fulton, and Fayette County Georgia. Her leadership experience includes serving the roles of Curriculum Teacher Leader, Local Facilitator, Local LEA, LEAD Teacher, and Instructional Leader. 

    Mrs Guest is happily married to her husband Rhett Guest and they have three children together; Ava, Marlee, and Owen. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is thrilled to be a McIntosh Chief again!

Mrs. Amy Hammock, Assistant Principal/Registrar

    Amy Hammock begins her 25th year in education and her eighth year as an Assistant Principal at McIntosh High School. She began her career at Fayette County High School teaching Biology and Physical Science.  Mrs. Hammock then moved to Whitewater High School where she most recently taught Human Anatomy and Physiology, was the Science Department Chairperson, and was also the Instructional Technologist for the school. Upon graduation from McIntosh High School in 1992, Mrs. Hammock attended Georgia State University earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She also earned her Master’s Degree and Specialist's Degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia. Mrs. Hammock’s career honors include her selection as the 2007 Whitewater High School Teacher of the Year and her 2016 Distinguished Wildcat Award. Mrs. Hammock has been happily married for over 23 years and is the mother of three children, William and twins Sarah and Andrew. She is thrilled to be a McIntosh Chief again!

Mr. Leon Hammond, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director

    Leon Hammond is entering his fifth year as an Assistant Principal/Athletic Director and his 17th year in education. Prior to joining McIntosh, Mr. Hammond taught physical education at Colleton County High School in Walterboro, South Carolina, before transitioning into the role of director of district athletics.  In addition, Mr. Hammond taught physical education and health at both Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School (Neese, SC) and McKinley High School (Buffalo, NY). Mr. Hammond earned both his B.S. in Physical Education & Health and his M.A. in Sports Administration from Canisius College. While teaching, Mr. Hammond coached basketball, football, and boys & girls track at all of his previous stops. He was the assistant coach on the McKinley boy's basketball team in 2013, which brought the Buffalo Public Schools their first large school state championship. While at Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School in 2014, Mr. Hammond was an assistant coach of the school’s first back-to-back state championship football team.  Professionally, Mr. Hammond is a member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, where he earned his certification as a Certified Athletic Administrator.  In his spare time, Mr. Hammond enjoys traveling, going to the movies, and spending time with his family and close friends.  Mr. Hammond is married to Dr. Kimberly Miller-Hammond and is the proud father of two girls, Vivian and Isabella.

Mr. Bob Rice, Assistant Principal

    Bob Rice is beginning his 15th year of education. His career began in 2007 teaching Social Studies at Griffin High School. He then spent the last 5 years at J.C. Booth Middle School teaching 7th grade World Geography.

    Mr. Rice earned his high school diploma from Euclid High School, in Euclid, Ohio in 2002. He then earned his Bachelor's in Secondary Education with Integrated Social Studies from Bowling Green State University. More recently, he earned his Master's degree in Teacher Leadership from Columbus State University. In 2020, Mr. Rice was selected as Teacher of the Year at J.C. Booth Middle School. In addition, he has served in various leadership roles such as: Teacher Leader, PBIS Coach, PBIS Team Leader, AP Reader, 7th Grade Team Leader, and community liaison.

    Mr. Rice is happily married to his wife Julie, and they have a pitbull. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking. He is excited to be a McIntosh CHIEF!
