McIntosh High and Rising Starr led a Fayette sweep at the 2024 Griffin RESA Academic Bowl.
In the high school varsity division, McIntosh won 1st place. Starr’s Mill finished 2nd with Whitewater in 3rd.
In the high school JV division, McIntosh won 1st place with Starr’s Mill in 2nd and Whitewater in 3rd.
Rising Starr won the middle school division, with Bennett’s Mill in 2nd and Flat Rock in 3rd.
The Griffin RESA Academic Bowl contest is a regional competition among middle and high schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson.
Varsity and JV teams that finished 1st, 2nd, or 3rd qualified to represent the region at the Georgia Regional Academic Bowl state championship. Only Fayette schools will represent the Griffin RESA region at the state competition.
