Whitewater High School’s Wildcat Marching Band brought home nine top awards from the Southern Invitational Marching Band Competition, including being named Grand Champions of the Gold Division.
This grand championship title is the 11th for the band, which is under the direction of Jack Jean.
By the end of the competition, not only had the band secured the championship, but they also placed first in the 3A Class competition, and took awards for the most outstanding percussion and color guard in their class.
Additionally, in the Gold Division, they won awards for most outstanding color guard, percussion, music performance, visual performance, and general effect.
As if these awards were not enough, the Wildcat Marching Band received the Dan Martin Award for Music Excellence, which is given to the band with the highest score for music excellence in the entire competition.
