Under the direction of John Kelly, the Sandy Creek Marching Patriots were named the Grand Champions at the 2017 Berkmar Invitational.
This is the first grand championship title for the band since 2005.
With the championship title, the Marching Patriots also placed first in the Class AA competition, and swept first place in every caption, including percussion, drum major, color guard, and music.
In addition to their wins, they received the highest ranking of the competition and were named the Superior band.
